FAQs about Wooden Toys

1. How are Ecobloks made?

Ecobloks are machine-made but hand-finished to make sure there are no loose splinters nor sharp edges.

2. What type of wood is used to make Ecobloks?

Ecobloks are made of scrap mahogany wood, excess wood from a furniture factory. Mahogany has a beautiful natural reddish color when left unpainted.

Mahogany trees take about ten to fourteen years to grow and harvest. Farms are mostly in Bohol and Mindanao, although there are also a few in the North and South of Cebu Province. These trees are relatively easy to plant and are not included in the list of species that Filipinos are prohibited from cutting down.
