bumGenius is the most popular cloth diaper in the US, and we can see why. They're super-easy to use, and the construction and fabric are of very good quality. After almost two years using them, my son's bumGenius still look new. The Velcro is incredibly strong too.
For many periods in my son's life, Wahmies-hooks was our favorite diaper. The hooksystem made it difficult for my son to take off his diapers when he was at that age when he wanted to walk around nappy-less. Wahmies are super-adjustable and can fit any-sized baby. My husband has a hard time with the hooks, though; admittedly, you do need some dexterity attaching them and taking them off.
I personally love the Rocky Mountain Diapers; the low rise makes them extremely cute. They don't fit all babies equally though; on small newborns, they can be a little loose around the leg so newborns might experience some leaks. For newborns, a trimmer fitting diaper would work better. I also know one person who said the elastic on her Rocky Mountains gave out after several months going in the washing machine; I personally haven't had that problem but you may want to refrain from washing the Rocky Mountain on the strongest cycles if you machine-wash your diapers.
Next9 are a great affordable alternative to the other brands. The fabric is nice and stretchy, like bumGenius. The inserts that come with Next9 diapers are a little thinner than the inserts of the other brands, though. They should be fine for babies, but for toddlers and heavy wetters, feel free to add an additional insert as you find necessary.

(1) How do I adjust a One Size diaper?
For the BumGenius, simply adjust the snaps in front to the desired rise, put the insert inside the pocket, then put the nappy on baby the same way you would put on a disposable diaper.

For the Rocky Mountain Diapers, adjust the elastic around each leg to fit your baby. Then just put the diaper on baby and fasten using the snaps. You don't need to readjust the diaper until your baby moves up to the next size.
(2) I'm happy with disposables. Why should I use cloth diapers?
Cloth diapers are better for baby. Cloth diapers don't contain harsh chemicals. Cloth-diapered babies get diaper rash less frequently! In contrast, disposable diapers contain dioxin (a probable carcinogen) and TBT, a toxic chemical that harms people's immune and hormonal systems. Studies have also linked disposable diapers to asthma symptoms and possible lower sperm count in males.
Cloth diapers are better for you. They're cheaper: 24 one-size Diapers will last you from birth until potty training and will cost you around P30,000. In contrast, disposable diapers from birth until potty training will cost P55,000 - P90,000! Cloth-diapered babies are also easier to potty-train!
Cloth diapers are better for Mother Earth. You won't be adding disposable nappies to our already over-burdened landfills.
(3) How do I wash Wahmies One-size diapers and Rocky Mountain Diapers?
Prewash diapers and inserts before first use.
Remove any inserts that you've added. Wash in 1/2 the usual amount of detergent. If using a washing machine, wash in either cool or warm (not hot) water. Dry on low in a dryer or hang to dry on a clothesline. Wait until diapers are completely dry and cool before stretching or stuffing so as not to ruin the elastic. Turning the diaper inside out to dry will make for shorter drying time.
Avoid bleaches and detergents with fabric softener or optical brighteners. If your diaper has a stain, leave the diaper out in the sun and the sun will bleach the diaper naturally.
(4) How do I wash bumGenius diapers?
Prewash diapers and inserts before first use.
Do not soak diapers. Wash soiled diapers every other day. For best results, remove solids from diapers before storing in the pail. If using a washing machine, wash/rinse cold to remove waste, wash hot to clean diapers ,then complete a second rinse to remove detergent residue. Dry on warm/medium in a dryer or hang to dry on a clothesline. Once per month, optionally use up to 1/4 cup color-safe bleach in the hot wash to sanitize diapers and fight odors.
Use additive-free detergent. No perfumes, dyes, whiteners, brighteneres, softeners, enzymes or other fabric enhancers.
Use only detergent and water. Do not use laundry additives (including vinegar, baking soda and facbric softeners).
